At Camp Akiba, “There are no strangers here, only friends you have not met.” Nestled on over 300 wooded acres in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania with a stunning view of Lake Akiba, our premier facilities create the perfect setting for an unforgettable summer. At the heart of our property lies a private, 40-acre lake, offering the ideal mix of relaxation and adventure. Life at Akiba is packed with action and excitement from the moment campers arrive, as they embark on a six-week journey filled with exploration, self-discovery, and nonstop fun. With athletics, arts, high and low ropes courses, and aquatics, every day is bursting with new experiences that build lasting skills and friendships. But the adventure doesn’t stop there—special events and surprises, like our legendary Blue & Gold Games and breathtaking Sunset Luaus, keep the energy high all summer long. This rate will remain the same for the entire duration of your camper’s time at Camp Akiba, even if tuition increases in the future. Plus, this guarantee extends to any siblings of the current camper, ensuring they too will benefit from the same rate throughout their camp careers. It’s a unique opportunity to lock in a consistent tuition rate for years to come!

Who is taking care of my children at camp?

At Camp Akiba, your kids are guided by a team of experienced staff, including college-age counselors who bring enthusiasm and excitement, as well as individuals with teaching backgrounds who offer a unique perspective on creating a positive and engaging environment. Each cabin is staffed with at least two counselors, supported by a skilled upper staff with experience in both camping and teaching. Our counselors undergo comprehensive training to ensure they’re ready to provide a fun, safe, and meaningful experience. From working with kids to emergency procedures, they’re fully prepared to lead activities and handle any challenges that may come up. This preparation ensures your child is in great hands, offering them a caring and energetic atmosphere where they can grow, have fun, and feel valued all summer long.

Can campers choose their activities?

At Camp Akiba, we follow a structured schedule that gives our campers the opportunity to experience each of our exciting activities -—whether it’s soaring across the zipline, conquering the Odyssey course, splashing around in the aqua park, practicing their swing at the driving range, getting creative with tie-dying in arts and crafts, or diving into sports. We encourage our campers to step out of their comfort zone and try them all! Once a week, they get to select their favorites during Individual Choice Day, where they make selections based on their own personal interests. Akiba offers over 60 unique activities, along with special all-camp events and out-of-camp trips, giving campers the perfect mix of personal choice and community fun for an unforgettable experience!


