Martinis can be shaken, or stirred, depending on your preference, but one thing’s for certain: they’re always best served cold. “Freezer martinis ensure this,” says Leigh Hansen of Habitual Hostess.  You simply pull the prepped martinis out of the fridge 20 minutes prior to serving, shake for 20 seconds and then serve in chilled glasses.

Storing batches of martinis in your freezer is perfect for parties so you’re not playing bartender. Need a go-to martini recipe? The Dantini is a classic cocktail with a special story behind it. Says Leigh: “Alston’s father, Dan, is infamous for his martinis. This is his recipe, so in honor of him we named them Dantinis!”

THE DANTINI

Makes 2 cocktails

  1. Put two glasses in freezer, spear large olives on toothpick, and fill shaker with ice.
  2. Combine:

4.5 oz. gin
1.5 oz. vodka
1 oz dry vermouth
.5 oz olive juice

       3.Shake vigorously for 20 seconds.
4. Pour into chilled glasses and drop in olives
