Can you tell us a little about yourself?
I have been married for 7 years. I was a teacher for 7 years before turning stay at home mom, now work at home mom. I decided to join The Local Moms Network and bring it to our area because there is nothing like it here! I have a daughter Lola, who is 4 and a son Barrett, who is 2.
I know you cover Kingwood—and do you reach beyond those borders at all?
In addition to Kingwood, I cover Humble and Atascocita, Texas.
For visitors to this part of Houston, what are the must-try restaurants?
Without kids, Chez Nous, and with kids, that’s a hard one! There are so many kid-friendly restaurants here. Tin Roof BBQ is one of our favorites and it has a great playground in the middle of the restaurant.
My house! We don’t really have any special hotels close by, and Southern hospitality says you host in your home….whether you want to or not. 🙂
Love it! What’s your favorite coffee spot locally?
Javaman Coffee & Bistro
And favorite stores?
Dapper Darlings is a cute kids boutique on Lake Houston. My favorite online shops (that are also local to this area) are Jack & Monroe and Her & Reese.
Where do you go to entertain the kids (this is top of mind on a long weekend like this one)?
King Harbor, Town Center, Jumpalooza, Mud Pie, Urban Air and of course, events at the libraries!
Yes, your libraries seem to have a ton of great programs. Are there any other don’t-miss events for visitors?
There are always fun events happening at Town Center and in King Harbor! For instance, there’s a Farmers Market every Thursday at the Town Center.
Our mission is to give moms the gift of time. What are your best time-saving tips/resources as a mom?
I do laundry on Thursday. I clean the kitchen before I go to bed every night. It’s nice to wake up to a clean house. I also make the bed every morning, because sometimes that is the only thing I get accomplished.
