Headed to the pool? Having a well-packed bag can mean the difference between a seamless day in the sun and hearing “where are my goggles?” or “I’m bored” on repeat until you pack up and head home. Use our shortlist below to help you be perfectly prepared for the pool. Bonus tip: After you wash and dry your towels or other wet items, leave your pool bag assembled so it’s ready to go next time.

Sun Protection

Sunscreen, sunglasses, hats and sun protective clothing are a must.

Hydration & Snacks

A great water bottle filled with ice water, snacks that won’t melt and some cash for the snack bar will keep energy high.

Towels

If you’re headed to a public pool or your friends, a thin, packable towel won’t take a lot of room but will dry fast.

Swim Diapers

We love the ones from Coterie that really don’t leak (iykyk!). Use code 20LOCALMOMS to get 20% off your first order.

Goggles

Bring more than you think you need; goggles are the first thing to go missing and a friend will always be in need of some.

Entertainment

Card games for them and a book for you (if you’re at that stage of parenting!). Plus, don’t forget about diving toys and other fun pool activities.

Change of Clothes

An extra set of clothes gives you the flexibility to head straight to dinner after the pool. Because after a long day supervising kids playing in the sun, the last thing you want to do is figure out dinner.
